8.3 Legal Policy

8.3.1 The NCF focus is on creating a new civilization through supporting projects and endeavors designed to improve the human condition. We recognize that such activities take place within the context of sovereign governments and that the letter of their law needs to be observed. At the same time we recognize that the laws of nations and of nature and spirit may diverge, if not by intent, then by action or inaction. When the laws of nations conflict with the laws of nature and spirit, we recognize the higher value of the laws of nature and spirit. We recognize the temporal authority of nations when they are acting in full accord with the letter, spirit and intent of their own laws, and will work within the framework of the law, in order to bring it into alignment with natural law and justice where such are absent.

8.3.2 Inherent to the concepts of the NCF is respect for the individual as a contributing member of the human family and a respect for all life forms. This includes a recognition of the *fundamental* importance of individual freedom and the rights and responsibilities of individuals as guaranteed by, but not necessarily granted to individuals by their government.

8.3.3 NCF members, acting of their own accord and volition but acting or claiming to act for the organization, who knowingly or negligently break laws in the land in which they are working in, will be subject to possible sanctions, including expulsion from the NCF organization.
