Where I'm at with alt.med is entirely holistic .. including socio-political / financial / ecological. as in: What is the most Revolutionary Act of Personal Empowerment you can make? Take control of your health and well being !

I have "done my time" with online activism & the inevitable infowar shitstorms. None of us has access to some megalithic carved-in-stone truth about climate "issues" ... it is more of a matter (to me) to make a personal stand for Gaia. I know that the U.N. is largely controlled (like the rest of the human society on the planet) -by the "elites." I know that the U.N. and W.H.O. and CDC and a bunch of other elitist criminal scum are busy doing crazy nazi-prison-camp experiments on humans worldwide, and that "flu vaccine" is part of one of their longterm goals of depopulation. I am LONG PAST arguing with anyone about any of this.. it (like everything else, really) eventually comes down to personal opinion.. the idea of proving some "solid consensual truth" in an info-scape filled with spy-vs-spy infowars would be superbly comical if it were not so deeply sad.

My personal "line in the sand" in this regard is basically that rapid climate degradation is a fact. I do not care about who may have exaggerated or mistaken EVEN IF they purposely did so AND I believe it more likely that appearances which indicate "pro climate" falsification are actually infowar.

What you choose to believe on this topic (or any...) is not of great importance to me; my motto is to seek the similarities, and work together where we find mutual interest -and to live and let live where differences might appear as disconnects.

It is inevitable , is it not, that the criminalist fractional reserve (now doing business as debt reserve) banking system yoked to the financial model of Wall st. will find a way to turn any/every situation into an attempt to take profit ? Every money-trail we follow on a topic of the scope of climate change vs. 'deniers' is going to involve the insanity of the greed factories of Wall st and the psychopathic corporations which are their stock in trade.

So, my second "line in the sand" .. my life is for and about building community on the local level, networking about any and every potential for alternative medicine, alternative currency, locally re-planting the "global commons," concerning myself with how to assure the basics of life: food, water, shelter, laughter, and love ... for all humanity and beyond to all beings.

Just say YES to the common wisdom of Hippocrates ("father of medicine") which gives the understanding that healthful (organic, not pesticide polluted or genetically mangled) FOOD is the absolute necessary foundation of excellent health.. and just say NO to the pitifully flawed idea that one should totally abandon & turn over one's most prized personal possession (your HEALTH, according to all common-sense wisdom) to the big-brotherism and gangsterism of the modern medical mafia !

The #1 leading cause of death in the U.S. (and similar in other "industrialized" nations) is the $pharmaceutical-based (anti)health (doesn't)care system. True healthCARE. wellness-CARE, actually PREVENTATIVE healthcare, and care for illness/disease which actually WORKS ... has not been and will not be born out of the COMPLETELY CORRUPT medical system as we see it in the U.S. The U.S anti-health greed-care system is clearly motivated (on the macro level) solely by mega-corporate mega-profit.

These mega-corps are (have been) easily characterized as criminally insane, and the criminally insane medical mafia is apparently convinced and focussed on DISEASE-care .. that is to say that they care-for disease (NOT wellness) as disease is their marketplace. They make money from and with disease. They make NO MONEY from robust health and wellness. Robust health and wellness are, therefore, obviously anathema to the $pharma based business interests of the modern medical mafia. It takes only grammar school logic to "GET" this. Mega-corps are dedicated to one thing above all, we already KNOW this. Mega-corps who make money off of people being SICK & DISEASED will very predictably seek to perpetuate and contribute (by any means possible !) .. What? .. sickness and disease, of course ! The logic and the reality of this is stark and simple, and visible everywhere around us.

Why do we not hear of the necessity for primary attention focused on healthful diet comprised of minimally processed (organic, non-gmo) food ?
Right.
There is no profit in that for any of the mega-corps.. though we may well dwell on how we could change this !

Meanwhile.. the re-evolution in modern society begins in each of us; we are all capable of choosing and learning to support our own robust health. Please consider that eating (and if at all possible GROWING) organic food, and avoiding the multiple ills associated with factory farmed foods: intake of pesticide residues, pollution of land and water with pesticides, chemical fertilizer runoff .. petroleum products consumed by machinery & trucking, etc..

It is with a mixture of hope & trepidation that I view what seems to assure that the medical industrial complex will continue roughly "status quo" (in other words: continue to be the USA's #1 direct leading cause of death) .. and just like the recent stock market crash and current financial depression was a direct result of insane / dysfunctional "economy" ... so to .. will the INEVITABLE CRASH of the medical industrial complex ensue upon the status quo ... bringing of course, much suffering .. but inevitably FORCING people to become responsible for their own health and well being .. essentially ripping the blinders off of the faces of the sheeple.. as grassroots & word-of-mouth show everyone how eating "death-eater corporate shit-food" and taking "death-eater poison medicines" lead to a DEADLY OBVIOUS lack of health ! "ALTERNATIVE" medicine will become 1000 times more popular than it is now, BY DEFAULT ! When considering whether we patronize (fund) corporate businesses, in my experience it is - "no, of course not, they are known to act in psychopathic manner, and WILL lie, lie, lie -- unless restrained from doing so."

Most corporations exist primarily for the unconscious false-economy fiat currency cash "bottom line."

Thus, if they can pollute in the Amazon basin, and chase out or even kill local tribespeople (thru local intermediaries if not local government &/or clandestine U.S. "operations") in order to improve their "bottom line" they will.
THEY HAVE, and they will continue to do so until they are STOPPED. Currently Chevron is spending much $$ on publicizing LIES in attempt to cover up previous crimes.

This is the nature of the large corporation.
It has only one agenda .. false-economy "profit" -and it will do anything within its power to attain that.... which specifically includes bending &/or breaking laws, even to the point of planning the executions of large number of human beings.

One of "our" major points of power in terms of the large corporation is to refuse to fund it.
The corporation exists solely to "do business" ... if enough people will NOT "do business" with a corporation because of [some list of criminal behaviors and specific incidents] --- maybe (just maybe) it could be possible to reform the corporation a bit at a time.

If the corporation is allowed to keep doing "business as usual" and feeding PR lies out through monopoly corporate controlled media, in order to keep "CONSUMERS" blind as to the corporate criminality which they are funding.. we will continue to have Walmart "decorating" their factory-farm vegetable produce area with a hanging sign saying "local" (because there is no specific law about how far away the sign has to be, and how much the fine is for displaying it illegally.)
Basically Walmart is an enemy of mankind, along with Chevron & apparently every other large corp in the energy business.. between them all, they certainly have bought up and hidden away plenty of patents which could've facilitated practically free "green energy" decades ago.

Hi Maddie, I'm not an expert on supplements, but reading Kaprex on the mfgr site, it appears to be just an expensive food-like "nutra ceutical" A "healthy balanced diet" .. and a reasonably healthy digestive system.. should obviate the need (or benefit) of such supplements. Rhus tox is, in addition to its value in your immediate need as a "first aid" remedy for knee.. also possibly of use toward better nutrient absorption in the digestive system. One of the reasons I studied & practice homeopathy (instead of herbalism, or nutriceutical "medicine") is that homeopathy treats "whole person" .. less so in "first aid" where the focus of the symptoms is sharp/immediate .. Rhus tox is useful in "inflammatory" issues in many of the body's tissues / organs. It is indicated as "first aid" for ligaments in the knee (and elbow) ... It is difficult for people to self-diagnose .. even people who've got a lot of training in homeopathy will see another homeopath (hard to see oneself objectively...) Rhus tox should make it possible to do without "anti-inflammatory" drugs, the normal way a person might check that scenario out would be to try taking less of the drug .. see if there is a negative result.. if not, after a day or two passes .. again take less .. and so on "weaning." Meanwhile, it should not have any effect on the NSAIDs as I think you know (?) homeopathy is not biochemical and cannot interact in that way; it is "energy medicine" and acts by causing a shift toward homeostasis .. movement towards normalcy. Hi Dagny, People in the U.S. (and many other places, I guess) -are being trained from cradle to grave that they should UNTHINKINGLY accept authority. It is a well know fact that TV is a social control mechanism; it inserts "world view" (German: Weltanschauung) as an unquestioned set of values and unexplored/unconfirmed "facts." Thus, people who are regular consumers of mass media (especially when it is from an early age) have their "reality" ... "PROGRAMMED" (in the U.S., the content on TV is actually called programming, in one of those interesting twists where the truth is hidden in plain view.) Social programming dictates that society respond fearfully to constant bombardment of PANDEMIC scare tactics made up of partial/true & partial/lies. Many of us who are aware of the manipulations cannot help but see the mindless herd-behavior of cattle being led to slaughter .. there is a word used in the U.S. by cognoscenti (Italian: those in the know) - to describe this human herd .. "Swine flu" h1n1 homeopathic treatment in epidemic / pandemic

Here is my analysis of a "swine flu" case as Ipecac, which is one among a dozen or so homeopathic remedies which might correspond to any given case, depending on the symptoms at hand (see end of this post for the particular case in question.) Short list of potential remedies in flu : Gelsemium, Baptisia, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Sabadilla, Arsenicum, Asenicum iodide, Dulcamara, Byronia, Phosphorus, Rhus toxicodendron, Allium cepa, Sticta, Ipecac, Veratrum album. Instead of repertorizing, (since the repertory is only an index to materia medica) I went straight to materia medica & read the "likely suspects" for genus epidemicus which had been discussed in various conversations online amongst fellow homeopaths, comparing from there, to the case posted. While reading, I came across several references to Ipecac, and so read several materia medica on Ip., coming to choose it above the other "likely suspects" for genus epidemicus .. and a fair match for this whole individual case. The patient woke March 27 with a mild sore throat and a headache "like a bunch of weights in there." Halfway through his day at work, he began to have "really sharp pain in the lower abdomen, really pretty sharp ... like a blade was stuck in my gut." This pain was accompanied by intense nausea. He knocked off work early (the first time he's ever felt that sick in his adult life) and went home to have diarrhea that got rid of the abdominal pain. Although he continued to have diarrhea daily for a week, he never had the abdominal pain again. The early diarrhea might have been darkly colored, he's not sure. After he started taking antibiotics on Day 6, it was definitely a very dark green, almost black. He never ate much after that first bout of diarrhea, as the nausea continued for the entire course of the illness and "nothing sounded good to eat." He never vomited, even though he often felt he needed to. The only food that felt good to him during the week was chicken soup. Sometimes he would nibble on crackers, but they "didn't do much for me." Feeling very weak, he fell asleep after that first stool and began a cycle of chills and drenching sweat. He felt miserably hot during the sweating and better during the chills. At first, the sweats tended to be at night, all over his body. Later he had an episode during the day. He did not remember having any dry heat. Unfortunately, there was no thermometer in the house, so he never got a temperature measured. The sore throat persisted, "raw and sore, not unbearable, just nagging." He doesn't remember anything making it better or worse. A cough started that first day, a cough from a little tickle, though he couldn't say where exactly the tickle was. When the cough was productive, his sputum was "white gunk." Every now and again he would get the feeling he needed to get something out of his chest, and he would manage to "dislodge" something. It would come up as "little white balls." There was also a raw feeling from dislodging it, but he didn't describe it as painful. Sometimes the cough was violent and paroxysmal, making him feel like he would vomit. Of course, he had the usual flu muscle aches, all over his body and worst in the lumbar region. I didn't get more details than that. The headache persisted throughout the week with a feeling of heaviness and difficulty keeping the head up, needing to "support" the head with either pillows or his arm. He often spoke of extreme weakness and of leaning either his head or body on things for "support." He described the fever as "fever hitting the brain." He had very vivid, repetitive dreams. He would wake thinking, "okay, I don't want to dream about that anymore." One dream was about "different kinds of knots" and lasted an entire night. On Day 5, he went back to work and could feel that he had made a bad decision. Although he made it through the day, he felt progressively weaker through the day. On Day 6, he went to a doctor, who heard rales in his chest and prescribed antibiotics. His temperature was measured at 100.2 degrees Fahrenheit. From numerous blood tests they determined only that his platelets were low. While waiting in line at the drug store, the patient began to feel "really hot and sweaty," "leaned my arm out to support myself on a rack" and "got a little bit of that tunnel vision thing." He woke on the floor with people around him, having been unconscious for about 15 seconds. He had hit his forehead on the floor. When the paramedics checked his vital signs, they found him drenched in sweat. He declined a visit to the hospital. The patient took more work days off and felt fully recovered two weeks after the onset of his illness. He made a full recovery and feels "great" now.

Sadly, even something supposedly "progressive" such as MoveOn.org is Asking the WRONG Questions about HEALTH ... CARE.

My answer to their ill-considered question is: It is very difficult to afford REAL health care (check the dictionary: care ... health ...) -when it has been systematically marginalized, practitioners persecuted, and of course .. made totally unavailable via most insurance plans.

Ironically, better overall health through simple things like decent nutrition & exercise WITHOUT taking dangerous pharmaceuticals .. is one HUGE benefit of not having insurance which only pays toward the misnomer of "health care" which largely doesn't "CARE" and which is, according to JAMA (Journal of American Medicine, the official publication of the AMA - American Medical Association) the iatrogenic (doctor &/or pharmaceutical drug CAUSED disease / illness) the 3rd leading CAUSE of DEATH in the United States .. according to other sources, which have less of a vested interest in protecting the current pharmaceutical / medical system of death-dealing ...

How is it that what is demonstrably the largest single CAUSE of death and illness in the U.S. is referred to as "healthcare" ?

What social & political entities are injecting this Orwellian "newspeak" falsity into our mass consciousness ?
I would wager this would be easily discoverable, following Occam's Razor .. simplified into "follow the money."
The very profitable practice of drugging people unto Death= healthcare .. yah, maybe for you, Mr. Pharmaceutical board of directors, but for me that is easily perceived as a heinous lie.
Drugging people unto death in the name of DOCTORING is perhaps the penultimate hypocrisy..
(Hippocratic Oath becomes hypocritical oath, in newspeak ?)

So, anything which tries to "PROP UP" the current system which is ACTUALLY the DIRECT CAUSE of MOST illness and death in the U.S. -- is naturally only CONTRIBUTING to death & illess .. by perpetuating more of the same. ANY TRUE REFORM in the current system should start by REQUIRING ANY INSURANCE to cover treatments CHOSEN BY the insuree.
Simply abolishing (making it illegal to promote / support / "insure" DEATH DEALING pharmaceutical "doctoring...") would be the most EFFECTIVE single improvement .. pharmaceutical drugs must be for emergency use only, for temporary use only, and as a last resort after LESS DANGEROUS means of true "health care" have been implemented in every possible instance.
The common-sense of not confusing "healthcare" with death-dealing pharmaceuticals seems crushingly simple.. it is embarrassing to be a member of a society which lacks this simple self-protective discrimination!
There seem to be more of us who are committed to better "healthcare" for dairy cattle .. than to some REALISTIC form of healthcare for humanity.

- no longer is it even "ask your doctor" but ask your VENDING MACHINE "prescriber" for "happy pill of the month"
(get 'em quick before they're off the market due to discoveries of illegal tampering with FDA approval process &/or hundreds of deaths from "side effect" !)

Is there anyone who isn't painfully aware that the U.S. is far, far behind in providing decent healthcare to its citizens and residents?
It is a pitifully broken system !
While the pharmaceutical industry is the most profitable industry in the U.S. (percentage of profit vs. sales income) --the U.S. medical system as a whole is one of the leading causes of DEATH and illness (iatrogenesis = doctor created illness, google it !)
One of our neighbors is arguably one of the poorest nations in the world (no thanks to right-wingers "blockade" of trade, now ongoing for 40rys+ [note to Barack Obama: END IT ?]) -yet Cuba provides BETTER HEALTH CARE for little or NO cost to residents and even to visitors !
Human beings in the U.S. are treated like some kind of valuable crop of diseased cattle, valuable in the sense that as long as the REMAIN DISEASED there is PROFIT to be SUCKED OUT of them, by the blood sucking and completely broken pharmaceutical/medical combine (think of Dwight David Eisenhower's warnings about the military industrial complex .. we've seen the truth played out there, and it is the same truth that has diseased and killed the U.S. medical system .. profit at any cost, human life a commodity, bought & sold.)
We need an FDA who is a CITIZEN's ADVOCATE -instead of the "lapdog of the pharmaceutical industry" & "revolving door" where pharmaceutical executives are hired-into FDA, push through approvals on drugs which inevitably are harmful / dangerous, then finally fired or resigned in disgrace, only to be re-hired by the pharmaceutical industry with bigger salary. Sickening. Emotionally sickening as well as literally a major source of the sickness which has nearly killed the medical system as a whole, and which is sucking life out of many people and families.
The NEW FDA must be RE-ORIENTED, such that non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical methods of healing are (naturally !) preferable ! Science-for-hire must be removed from the equation.
The NEW FDA is not about making money !
It is about empowering citizens and residents with information that supports optimal health and well-being.
The "F" in FDA is FOOD.
"Let food be thy medicine" is a quote attributed to Hippocrates, Father of Medicine.
SO, let FOOD .. as medicine .. become a PRIMARY focus of the NEW FDA.
Out with bogus "minimum daily requirements."
IN with "optimum daily recommendations" and nutritionally based "therapeutic recommendations"
OUT with pseudo-scientists hired by drug companies who make up phony "studies" to "prove" (with their doctored "evidence") that their new pharmaceutical wonder drug-of-the-month is harmless or effective
IN with time honored, time tested "alternatives" to the iatrogenic pharmaceuticals; alternatives such as naturopathic herbalism, homeopathy, TCM (acupuncture and Chinese herbalism,) and many other natural treatments & therapies which the pharmaceutical industry had pressured the OLD FDA into banning, persecuting, prosecuting, etc.. because pharmaceutical "medicine" cannot maximize profits where "alternatives" flourish, and the OLD FDA was controlled by the money that the pharmaceutical industry extorted from US by suppressing all of its competition!

In essence, forgiveness is of ultimate simplicity.
As life's lessons magnetize us toward more 'godlike' thought, attitudes, and behaviours.. One of the things that becomes clear is that our ego, our 'little self' is not so godlike (another name for ego is "the monkey mind.")
So -- shedding egoic attitudes -such as the concept that we are in any way capable of (or served by) sitting in Judgement of another.. becomes highly desirable.
Whatever thoughts, attitudes, emotions attempt to infuse the monkey mind with righteous judgement are essentially and ultimately part of The LIE.
The Grand Illusion. Maya. The veil that separates us from the Divine.
The perpetuation of Suffering.
The simple truth is: no one of us knows all aspects of any situation and thus we're not COMPETENT to judge (even if it weren't a self-defeating exercise) -speaking of which... generally, when wrapped up in judging another, we are simultaneously involved in negative self-judgement
(which is the greatest and perhaps the ONLY "sin") .. and 'projecting' the angst & self hatred which we suffer from onto "the other"
(where in essence, we're all One, all part of the same energy field, no possibility of being "other" than a holographic fragment [a holotropic one, at that]) .. of the All.

Conscious Enlightenment - meets the Corporate world ?

hmmm... well Christopher,

In a similar fashion to how the mass-mail below DOES NOT seem to constitute "reaching out personally"
-it seems likely that the fervor over corporate branding DOES NOT bode well .. except for those "packaging" and "mainstreaming" social alternatives ... often as vanity items for acquisition by various yuppies. While I'm sure that yuppies on yoga are better than yuppies on Golds gym.. it'd be great if CASH and the bottom line, while certainly of some merit, did not DRIVE the organization.

One of the things which REALLY CREEPS ME OUT about zaadz (among any/all others who fit the picture)
-is their "integrative medicine" section, in which people with the typically stilted "western" / "modern" medicine (read: drugs & surgery) -viewpoints (read: indoctrination, investement, etc) PRETEND to be interested in viable ALTERNATIVEs (to the pharmaceutical-industry sponsored drug & surgery brand of "modern medicine") so as to "integrate" (read: marginalize further, by making amateurish and ineffectual use of ALTERNATIVE therapies) into their practices (thereby appearing to be open to alternatives; actually a means of trashing the alternatives EXCEPT in the very rare case where the "western" "modern" drugs & surgery Inc type of practitioner will deign to work with an alternative practitioner who actually knows h/ir stuff 1000 times better than for instance, a chiropractor who's taken a weekend seminar before "integrating" an "ALTERNATIVE" into h/ir menu of items for sale (few of which s/he may be actually capable of wielding as effective healing-arts tools..)

'nother example.. Whole Foods. (even Rainbow grocery) USED TO BE "alternative" NOW they're yuppie-driven.
"Alternative" folks who spend a reasonable amount of their attention on "conscious enlightenment" are, in large part, unable to pay yuppie prices for food. $8 per pound for red bell peppers ?
I worked for a short time (over 30yrs ago) at Semillas de Vida (Seeds of Life) .. the precursor to Rainbow grocery, and have continued to shop at Rainbow.. though recently, the price of Rainbow's success has started seeming to be price-gouging at the register.

I'm sure there is plenty of good y'all can do. BEWARE of morphing into the corporate mindset ! It's insidious, not to mention invidious. Our world is currently ruled through a corporate plutocracy... some "trading with the enemy" is certainly necessary, and a desire to seed the dominant paradigm with better ideas is likely the way to the future... but lest we BECOME "the enemy" we need to keep it REAL. Money cannot be the god or the guideline of "conscious enlightentment."

"A Little Human Love"

I'm glad you enjoyed my "web presence" - I figure it's best to use the technology to make something of myself known to potential friends, holistiq business contacts, craigslist-daters , etc. (grin)

Thanks for writing back; I'd love to meet you some time, where do you live / work ? I'm in Berkeley, as you may be aware.

With regard to spirituality, and our connected-ness with "ALL" and with regard to your quotes:

According to Buddhist tradition, and according to the sometimes painful evidence of our own senses, we are living in the "Kali Yuga" .. the "Iron Age," the last of four Maha-yugas spanning a nearly incomprehensible amount of time, and representing the inevitable and periodic downhill slide from "Golden Age" toward the eventual dissolution of the material universe as we know it .. a cycle that is compared to our own breath .. where the exhalation is nearing its end, and the new intake of breath will be the beginnings of creation for an entirely new Spirito-physical Universe. (physical plane, astral plane, causal plane, etheric plane are some ways of thinking of inter-permeable divisions of manifested Universe .. as opposed to Unmanifest which is beyond any description and outside of "creation.")

So, from this perspective, everything (as usual - smile :) is proceeding along its normal course, all is well and the Gods are in their Heavens (to co-opt a phrase into the service of Pantheism, since I like to think of the Universe as being populated by gods, godesses, and godlets) .. even though I experience the reality of the "One God" theory in a deeper manner .. (Ek Ong Kar Siri Wha Guru Sat Nam : "There is one Creator whose name is Truth. Great is the ecstasy of that Supreme Wisdom") - the essence of Monotheism far predating Christianity.

As we identify with/as Spirit, and release judgments we may have harbored against the Universe, its Creator, our Self, and our Neighbor .. we may approach an equilibrium, a sort of philosophical detachment.. where we Fundamentally and Primarily hold the most Deepset and Unshakable Knowingness that we are All One .. that "injustice" is a perception which is caused by our own delusion (illusion being defines as anything which obscures that One Truth) ..and that our Way as spiritually awakening beings is to act as channels for flowing the higher tones of creative juice (love, bliss, hope, charity) and to transform the lower (fear, anger, greed, despair, attachment, vanity) into the higher and to continue thus to channel the height of creativity .. our purest experience and understanding of Divine Love / Cosmic Love.

Still.. as a man, with human eyes and human heart, it is quite Painfully apparent that the Faeries and other Spirits of the Land have gone on ahead, and are calling all of the more exotic animals and plants along with them into the Forest Primeval.. (the Unmanifest .. a template of reality we can experience as cultural memory, or karmic memory, or perhaps "direct perception" of non-physical reality) and it is only by making an active choice that I can turn toward philosophical / Spiritual detachment..

The fact that I'm not yet perfect in this area, is evidenced by my emotional twinges .. it nearly brings tears to my eyes.. and leaves me to deal with a bit of depressive emotional funk.. when I see the incontrovertible truth of this beautiful planetary ecology being rapidly ruined (I started to write "planet being ruined" yet that is ludicrous, the planet will be perfectly fine after mankind is gone) -anyway, it makes me terribly sad to read (as I have just been) stories of Indigenous peoples' relationship to their World .. their entire cultural existence .. the framework of perfect and nearly incomprehensibly interconnected ecological symbiosis between all plants, animals, and Mankind .. is shattered .. it is dying .. the deepest wisdoms of our species are literally dying out .. and if one wished to transit in emotional tone from despair to rage .. it is easily done, where it is clearly apparent that genocide and cultural extermination are merely tools used by the least human of humans to gain dominion over lands which had been so perfectly and intimately populated by the web of life which included those wise enough to live as part of that web, rather than its despoilers.

Very, deeply sad, what do we do with such sadness?

it is a long story.. it is not your or my story; we may take on any set of feelings or activities in relationship to the sad stories of the phenomenal world .. as we have done through past incarnations, and shall be expected to do again.. we must persevere in retaining / regaining spiritual detachment.. knowing that we might just as well be on the other side of the fence; the ones viewed as pillager, who is exactly the same as we are, a Spiritual being having a human experience.

the lover and the beloved are One as all Creation is One

What we can do, is choose first of all to rise to the level of our spiritual essence; to gain some equilibrium by practicing the channeling of 'higher consciousness' in terms of placing ourselves in states of forgiveness, compassion, etc .. and thus moving out of judgment, pain, etc, and then see if we can make a difference supporting what we believe to be ways to bring or sustain beauty, truth, freedom, and similar high ideals into our daily walk of life .. somehow, if I can, I would like to make a difference in preserving some of the beauty of this planet and the cultures which are profoundly in tune with their local ecosystems ... so that these things do not pass away during my lifetime, as it appears they may !

Relationships .. ecology .. sustainability, perhaps no coincidence that these concepts are rolling around together here.. for the spiritually awakening individual, lusty human love must take on the aspect of a sustainable ecology in order to survive and thrive The ecology of sustainable intimate and sexual relationship between woman and man takes up many books, and walls full of books, even.

First thing last, sure that makes sense from some perspectives.. and for those who dedicate themselves full-time to spiritual studies, it is commonly accepted that celibacy is part and parcel thereof.. it sure can seem like it must be easier just to renounce the fire of lusty human love in favor of the warm glow of divine love ... yet, Life is so arranged that it may not be necessary .. in fact it may be that the attractions and powerful experiences of human love can, with careful cultivation, bring lovers a fine yield of mutual mirroring of divine love.

So, what I'm feeling the desire for, in terms of love and partnership.. is (like everyone else from my viewpoint) basically motivated from the spiritual sense of longing to be re-united with the Divine .. that is the $0.02 synopsis. A spiritual partnership between lovers and helpmates who share some common visions and goals is something that might be sustainable, given PLENTY of love, forgiveness, compassion, etc -- and keeping in check those "lower" states of mental / emotional tone.

What is love? (back to those shelves, even libraries full of books on the topic ;) Essentially, we have our emulation of Divine Love -which is completely unconditional and unceasing; the Sun shines on the wicked exactly as it does on the saintly.

And so, in our hypothetical lifelong love partnership - we must take this as our basic cue, we must pour out unceasing unconditional love (to the best of our ability !) -and be always aware that this is our goal in terms of our beloved (who is a fellow spiritual being, another ray of the same divine sun, essentially as we identify our Self with the Divine, the Beloved and the Lover are One) -so there is a sort of alchemy of transforming the raw substance of human lust, love, desire for acceptance, etc, into a reflection of divine love.. yet without the passion of human love, we are perhaps missing one form of fuel that propels us toward the divine.

Finding a balance between living a profoundly human experience, including savoring the sensual delights is another topic on which countless discourse has been recorded. The Bauls and Sufis have a history filled with beautiful poetic expression of the living allegory of human love and divine love, and how the one prepares and leads us into the other. Some of my favorites of these mystic poets include Kabir, Rumi, Gibran, Tagore.

This is by Kahlil Gibran, from a book I first read as a young teenager .. sadly I did not put this into practice as well as might be hoped, in terms of its purpose as a little bit of guideline toward the ecology of sustainable human love relationships.. perhaps I'll do better next time (smile)

The first line of the bit above is something like what brings people into the idea of "soulmates" My own (uh.. feeling? intuition? knowledge?) in this area is that clearly there is no one individual who is our one and only soulmate; and even more so, we are complete in and of ourselves (as human beings) and are positively not in need of nor in any real fashion amenable to having some other human "complete" us .. as some of the wounded-duck humans might quack about (grin) BUT - as we Spirits/ Souls go thru lifetime after lifetime as humans, we develop affinities for others of our immortal kind .. and tend to reincarnate so as to be family, tribe members, and so on. This accounts for some of the inexplicable part of "attraction" - which may be operating as a mutual recognition of a member of the same band of immortal travelers.

-well, this has become overly long ! Please don't be surprised to see the text I've written blogged .. I'm trying to write more often, and you've offered some excellent inspiration, for which I thank you =:-)

Alternative healing "conscious community" Puerto Escondido, Mexico

If you're a bit like me, you're interested in community, alternative healing, off-the-grid living, organic farming, and the whole eco-sustainable ideal (which must include eco-nomic sustainability!)
Current interests include co-creating such an ecologically conscious and economically sustainable community in the Puerto Escondido area of Mexico. I'm inviting a few other alternative healers to take part in a healing arts venue which may take form as a sort of 'spa' and will likely cater to Bay Area (and beyond) tourists with (or without) specific health challenges.. I hope to include living accommodations for guests who may stay for a week or two, doing supervised cleanse / fasting, and in the longer term, develop substantial community guesting capability, which may serve as an income source.
I'd love to offer a number of healing modalities in addition to those which I am proficient in (homeopathy, craniosacral work, massage) -including but not limited to acupuncture / TCM, Ayurvedha, quasi-esthetic 'spa' treatment, dietary consultation, herbalism and more .. Naturopathic doctor, maybe ? It'll be great to also integrate some kind of arts programs; ideally things which connect with the community and its mission and also with the local and indigenous culture.
I have a good working relationship with a construction builder/contractor in Puerto, who also has an active customer base in San Francisco, where I am their I.T. /computer support person.
There is some development in the area; it is not over-developed, but is in the path of immediate future development. Ideally the project will gather funds sufficient to engage in eco-stewardship of some large tracts of land in the nearby mountains, which may be used in some non-intrusive ways such as wildcrafting of herbs and small-scale cultivation of locally indigenous food sources. Possibly also some biomass alternative energy uses. Wind is probably feasible too, and of course Solar will be good to excellent .. there is some cloud cover on occasion, will have to do more research on that.
I have secured webdomains to be used to support marketing, as well as supporting the 'organic' growth of the project.
I have a strong potential of an interested co-creatrix who is a relatively recent Green MBA grad of New College; she has tremendous detail oriented green-vision and also has documentation creating skills I sadly lack ;)
Definitely looking for additional team-members, and also compiling a list of people who'd like to be kept informed as things progress. Naturally, if this is something that you feel strongly drawn to, or feel could fit a similar vision you have, it would be best for all concerned if you make yourself known; see if you'd like to get on board in the early phases. This is already well beyond the wish/hope stage.. one team member has emigrated from the Bay area to Mexico and is a permanent resident of the area in which we will build the first phase of the project. If you want to MAKE IT REAL --in terms of your contributing/compatible vision it could well be that THIS IS IT.
I'm planning a trip soon, probably mid or late March, probably a week to ten days. I should be able to arrange for very inexpensive (and possibly free) accommodations. Airfare is in the $600 (incl. taxes) roundtrip range.

I've read about and sampled a lot of different spiritually related stuff..

starting out as a child, having 'out of body' experience and somewhat mystical encounters with animals.. I remember a persistent notion that someday I might be struck by lightning, following which I would know "everything..." One evening, a sort of a dark-night-of-the-soul experience, when I was 10yrs or so.. crying and screaming up at the sky "is THIS all there IS ???" -much of my childhood (like many people, I guess) was not so pleasant.. some of it was rather brutal .. I think I paid off some karma for being a mean person in the past

Then around age 12 or so, I stared reading a lot of psychic-related materials .. Edgar Cayce & such, then on to Theosophy.. later I got interested in a westernized Buddhism spin-off called Eckankar (after the chant ek on kar sri waha guru) and Sufism..

At several points along the way, I mixed in some entheogenic research ... at age 21 I had an extreme "traumatic" kundalini opening, complete with manifestations of some of the siddhis which I had once wished for (careful what you wish for ;) -recovering /reintegrating from this took some time, after which I studied many self-help and spirituality materials.. eventually settling on Tibetan Buddhism for its descriptions of mental and spiritual psychology .. and discovering with the help of Taoism, my own connectedness with the earth and sky .. my ability to move / exchange energy .. which ties in with some of the healing arts I've been trained in.

At this point, I've been on my path for over 20yrs.. my practice involves seated meditation on occasion, but never more than 15 minutes or so .. it's more of an active meditation than an approaching samadhi meditation... basically westernized Taoism .. Tibetan Buddhism is what informs my spirituality, but I don't do the many and various rituals that go along with vows.

Some small touches of pantheism, animism, and shamanism also permeate my sense of spirituality.

Basically, every day I am, for much of the day, aware of myself and others, and the Universe at large.. as more or less of a spiritual unity.. sometimes less so when embroiled in traffic -even then, I am usually able to move some energy and get in touch with my spiritual self and the grounding power of the Earth aspect of the Universe.

There are moments every day when my heart feels completely connected to "the world" .. and everything seems like a perfect precious jewel .. this is my daily practice, in truth.. to live within this sort of reality .. to walk with this pure Bliss at my side, and to take it into my heart when daily life isn't demanding too much mental concentration/focus for me to maintain the sort of dual consciousness of "life as human" and "life as spirit."

I've been working on a deal to offer a great DSL service, complete with VoIP (voice over IP, computer telephony, etc) - so that all my friends and computer servicer customers can Kill Two Birds with One Stone .. and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to kill Comcast and that ungodly zombie monster AT&T (reminds me of a cartoon monster that gets blown to bits and all the pieces just slowly stagger back to be re-united) .. anyhow, stay tuned to discover how to quickly, easily and inexpensively eradicate these two corporate monopoly fiends from your pocketbook !

So, I responded to a really great Craigslist post in the women-seeking-men section, and received a nice brief response.. seeming to agree "much in common" and so on. Like any normal netizen, I googled the woman's name, which she'd included as part of the email addressing. Seemed like a really great lady, someone I would respect, admire, and wish to befriend -or at least have a coffee-date with (VeryBigGrin) So, Mr. Google told me that this woman had lived at some time in the recent past, in the same part of Maui where I once lived - so I mentioned that in my 2nd email to her. Imagine my surprise: her next email was apparently sent only to inform me that she was not intersted in getting to know me.. citing differences in sense of privacy. ?? Privacy online ?? I mean, unless you're using a nym.. unless you're taking specific steps to create an alternate/pseudo persona online... isn't "privacy" exactly the OPPOSITE of what you're doing ? It is interesting what a cultural divide there seems to be here. I guess some people don't absolutely KNOW that anything they upload to a website, any emails they send to public or semi-public email lists, and LOTS of other stuff ... is pretty much PUBLIC information (as in "not private") Now, I know this as well as I know I'll be dead when I've stopped breathing. ..and I guess that having known this for uhm, ah, maybe the last 13yrs or so must've contributed to my current state of being Completely Perplexed by a person (especially one who has done significant amounts of self-promotion online, using her True Name or close to it) ... feeling like I've transgressed against "privacy" by looking up very Public information. Is this one of those bizarre "men are from mars, women are from venus" things ? Am I just too much of a geek to relate ? blech. whatever.
